The 2025 Match Play Champion

Cain Castro shot a reputable 77 (gross) to outlast #1 seed, Darren Crisp, for the 2025 Match Play Championship.  Castro's journey included an opening win against club rookie, Taylor Rodriguez, at Lemoore Golf Club.  Then Castro took out #10 seed, Joey Chica, at Riverside but was granted a gift from #11 seed, Blake Edmonson, in the semifinals as Edmonson had to withdraw.  Never the less, the 2024 Master's Champion, played steady golf month in and month out earning him a spot in the finals.  Crisp entered the tournament as the #1 seed after winning the opening tournament of the year at Eagle Springs.  Crisp defeated 2024 Club Champion, Kevin Matta, in his opening match.  Then, took out 2021 Club Champion, Brad Pendergast, in the second round, leading to his win against Club VP, Cole Schieferle, in the semifinals.  With Castro's Match Play win and 6th place finish at Dragonfly, he advances himself to 3rd on the Mafia Cup Points List for the season.  Congratulations to Cain Castro!
